By downloading, installing, or using the Currency Wiki Android application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using the App, you represent that you are at least 13 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. These Terms constitute a binding agreement between you and Currency Wiki.
2. Description of Service
Currency Wiki is a currency conversion application that provides:
- Real-time and historical exchange rate information
- Manual currency conversion
- AI-powered price scanning using OCR and artificial intelligence
- Home screen widgets for quick currency reference
- Conversion history tracking
3. User Accounts
Anonymous Authentication
The App uses anonymous authentication. No personal account creation, email, or password is required. Your device is identified using a one-way cryptographic hash of your device identifier, which cannot be reversed.
Session Management
Your session is managed through secure tokens that automatically refresh. If you uninstall and reinstall the App, a new anonymous session may be created.

- Unlimited custom rate and percentage adjustments
- 16 additional premium widget styles
- Wear OS watch tiles with automatic sync
- Long-term historical charts (3-year, 5-year)
- Offline mode with cached exchange rates
- 3-day free trial available for new users
Subscription Terms
- Subscriptions are billed through Google Play
- Subscription auto-renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Manage or cancel your subscription through Google Play Store settings
- No refunds for partial subscription periods
5. AI Scanner Service
Image Processing
- Images you capture are transmitted securely (HTTPS) to our servers
- Images are processed using Google Gemini AI for price analysis
- Images are stored only temporarily for processing and deleted automatically within 30 minutes
- Only the extracted price data and currency information is returned to your device
- Processing typically takes 15-30 seconds
Usage Limits
- Free users: 3 AI scans per week (resets weekly)
- Pro users: unlimited AI scans, subject to fair use. Accounts using more than 1,000 scans in a month may be limited to 30 scans per day until the month resets.
- Rate limiting may apply to prevent abuse (5 requests per 5 minutes for free, 30 for Pro)
- Local OCR mode has separate limits: 10 sessions/week (free), unlimited (Pro)
Accuracy Disclaimer
AI-powered price detection is provided for convenience only. Results may be inaccurate due to image quality, unusual price formats, handwritten text, or partially visible prices. Always verify detected prices before making financial decisions.
6. Exchange Rate Information
Data Sources
Exchange rates are provided by third-party data sources and are refreshed periodically. Rates displayed in the App are for informational purposes only.
No Financial Advice
The App does not provide financial, investment, or trading advice. Exchange rates shown may differ from rates offered by banks, currency exchanges, or other financial institutions. Do not rely solely on this App for financial transactions.

- We do not guarantee real-time accuracy
- Rates may not be available for all currency pairs
- Rates may differ from other sources
7. Home Screen & Watch Widgets
Phone Widgets
2 widget styles available free (Mini Single, Compact Single), 16 additional styles require Pro subscription
Widgets display cached exchange rate data and may not reflect the most current rates. Tap the refresh button on any widget to update when connected to the internet.
Long-press any widget to access reconfiguration options including currency pair selection, transparency toggle, and decimal places
Wear OS Watch Tiles
Currency data can be synced to compatible Wear OS watches (Galaxy Watch 4 and newer) via the Wearable Data Layer API
Watch tiles sync automatically when your phone and watch are connected. Data includes exchange rates, daily change percentages, and your formatting preferences
Widgets display cached data when offline. Pro users have full offline mode with automatic rate caching.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Circumvent usage limits, quotas, or subscription restrictions
- Use automated systems to access the App in a manner that exceeds reasonable use
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or networks
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or data
9. Intellectual Property
Ownership
The App, including its design, features, code, and content, is owned by Currency Wiki and protected by intellectual property laws.
License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
Restrictions
- Copy, modify, or distribute the App
- Use the App's content for commercial purposes without permission
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices
10. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services including:
- Google Play Billing for subscriptions
- Google AdMob for ads
- Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for usage statistics and crash reports
- Google Gemini AI for image analysis
- OpenAI as a backup for image analysis
- Third-party exchange rate data providers
Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY OF EXCHANGE RATES, AND AVAILABILITY OR RELIABILITY.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Financial losses resulting from reliance on exchange rate information
- Errors in AI-powered price detection
- Service interruptions or unavailability
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Currency Wiki, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
14. Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the App
- Change usage limits or quotas
- Update pricing for premium features
- Modify these Terms
We will provide reasonable notice of material changes when possible.
15. Termination
By You
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.
By Us
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.
Effect of Termination
- Your license to use the App ends
- Your locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it
- Active subscriptions should be cancelled through Google Play
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.
17. Dispute Resolution
Before filing a legal claim, contact us at [email protected] and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days. Disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
19. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Currency Wiki regarding your use of the App.
