These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Translate + AI Android application ("App") operated by CurrencyWiki Technologies LLC ("we," "our," or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Translate + AI, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and agree to comply with these Terms. If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Description of Service
Translate + AI is an AI-powered translation application that provides:
- Text translation between 109 languages
- Real-time two-way voice conversation translation
- Camera OCR translation (signs, menus, documents)
- File translation (PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, TXT)
- On-device translation via Google ML Kit (59 offline languages)
- Cloud translation via Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude AI
- AI-powered dictionary with Word of the Day, IPA pronunciation, definitions, and examples
- Floating overlay for quick translations from any app
- Home screen widget for instant translations
3. User Accounts
No Account Required
The App uses an anonymous device ID hash (SHA-256) for identification. No personal account, email, or sign-in is required.
Device-Based Access
Your subscription and usage limits are tied to your device via Google Play. Translation history and preferences are stored locally on your device.

Billing & Subscription Terms
- All subscriptions are managed through Google Play
- Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase
- Subscription auto-renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Cancel anytime via Google Play → Subscriptions
- No refunds for partial billing periods (refunds are handled by Google Play)
- Free trial period may be offered — if not cancelled before trial ends, subscription begins automatically at the listed price
5. Translation Accuracy Disclaimer
Please be aware of the following regarding translation quality:
- Translations are provided "as is" for informational purposes only
- AI translations may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions
- Do not rely solely on translations for legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical communications
- On-device (ML Kit) translations may differ in quality from cloud (Gemini/Claude) translations
- We are not responsible for misunderstandings, losses, or damages caused by translation errors
- Dictionary definitions are AI-generated and may not reflect authoritative dictionary sources
- File translation may not perfectly preserve complex formatting, formulas, or embedded media
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for automated or scripted bulk translations
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract AI models or proprietary algorithms
- Use the App to translate illegal, harmful, or abusive content
- Attempt to circumvent daily usage limits or rate limiting
- Resell or redistribute translations commercially without authorization
- Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the service
Silent daily limits protect against automated abuse. Exceeding these limits may result in temporary service restrictions.
7. Intellectual Property
- The App and its content are owned by CurrencyWiki Technologies LLC
- User-generated translations belong to the user
- ML Kit models are licensed from Google and subject to Google's terms
- Third-party AI models (Gemini, Claude) are subject to their respective providers' terms
- The App icon, branding, and UI design are proprietary and may not be copied or reproduced
8. Service Availability
- Cloud features (Gemini, Claude, file translation) require an active internet connection
- Offline features (ML Kit) require downloaded language packs
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service availability
- Third-party AI services may experience downtime, rate limiting, or changes beyond our control
- We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any features with or without notice
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT TRANSLATIONS WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR ERROR-FREE.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- We are not liable for translation errors, misinterpretations, or resulting consequences
- We are not liable for data loss resulting from device issues or app updates
- We are not liable for third-party AI service changes, outages, or discontinuation
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
OUR MAXIMUM LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE LESSER OF $100 USD OR THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATION OF LIABILITY — IN SUCH CASES, LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
11. Termination
By You
You may stop using the App at any time. Uninstall the App to remove all local data. Cancel your subscription via Google Play to prevent future charges.
By Us
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or attempt to circumvent usage limits.
Effect of Termination
- Premium features revert to free tier limitations
- Local translation history and preferences are retained on your device until you clear them
- Any active subscription should be cancelled via Google Play to prevent further charges
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Delaware. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via app update or in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
