Questions about Publisher files
What happened to Microsoft Publisher?
Microsoft removed Publisher from Microsoft 365 on October 1, 2026, and support for Publisher 2021 and 2019 ended on October 13, 2026. Your .pub files still exist, but no current Microsoft app opens them.
Which format should I choose?
Choose PDF to keep a file exactly as it looked, for records and printing. Choose PowerPoint to keep editing the design, in PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote or Canva. Choose Word when you mainly need the text. The Archive plan includes all of them.
Will my converted files look exactly the same?
Most do. Two things can differ: fonts we do not have are replaced by the closest match (Arial, Times New Roman, Calibri and Cambria use metrically identical replacements), and text that wrapped around a picture may sit behind it instead. The free preview shows every file before you pay.
Can I convert a whole folder at once?
Yes. Upload up to 1,000 files per archive and the ZIP keeps your folders. For larger collections, or if you would like us to do the work for you, contact us.
What happens to my files?
They are used only to make your conversions and are deleted automatically: 72 hours after upload if you do not continue, and 7 days after conversion (30 days on Archive+). No account is needed.
What if a file cannot be converted?
You are never charged for it. Your plan is based on the files we could read, and the report in your ZIP lists any file that failed and why.
Do I need Publisher or Windows?
No. Everything runs in your browser on Windows, Mac, Chromebook or Linux. You do not need Publisher or any other software.
Which Publisher versions are supported?
Files from most versions of Publisher, including Microsoft 365. The free preview tells you straight away if a particular file cannot be read.
