These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Currency.Wiki Currency Converter app for Shopify ("App"). By installing the App, you agree to these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, do not install or use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing our Shopify app, you represent that you have the authority to bind the store owner to these Terms. These Terms constitute a binding agreement between you (the store owner or authorized representative) and CurrencyWiki Technologies LLC.
2. Service Description
Our App provides the following services for your Shopify store:
- Real-time currency price display conversion (prices at checkout remain in your store's base currency)
- 6 customizable currency selector widget styles
- Automatic visitor geo-location for currency detection
- Analytics dashboard showing currency usage statistics
3. Pricing & Billing
Payment for our App is processed through Shopify's billing system:
Shopify Billing
All payments are processed through Shopify. You authorize Shopify to charge your account for the subscription fees.
Auto-Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before renewal.
Refund Policy
We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. You may cancel at any time and continue using the service until the end of your current billing period.
Price Changes
We may change our pricing and plans at any time by updating our Shopify App Store listing. Price changes generally apply to new subscriptions. If you have an active subscription, your recurring price will not increase unless you approve a new charge through Shopify (for example, if you change plans or re-subscribe after cancellation or a lapse).
4. Exchange Rate Disclaimer
Exchange rates displayed by our App are for informational purposes only and should not be used for financial decisions, trading, or official transactions.
- Rates may be based on mid-market rates and are sourced from third-party providers. Rates may be delayed, unavailable, or inaccurate and may differ from bank rates, credit card rates, or rates at point of sale.
- Shopify checkout charges in your store's base currency. Any converted prices shown to visitors are estimates for display only and may differ due to exchange-rate timing, rounding, taxes, shipping, discounts, and payment-processor rates or fees.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for discrepancies between displayed prices and actual charges, or for losses caused by exchange-rate differences, rate/provider errors, glitches, or service interruptions.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use our App in compliance with all applicable laws and Shopify's Terms of Service. You must not:
Prohibited Activities
- Use the App for fraudulent pricing or deceptive practices
- Attempt to abuse, exploit, or overload our service
- Violate Shopify's Terms of Service or App Store Guidelines
- Reverse engineer, copy, or create derivative works of our App
5b. Browser Storage & Analytics
Our App uses browser localStorage to store visitor preferences. If analytics tracking is enabled, the App may also collect pseudonymous usage data to provide the analytics dashboard. By installing the App, you acknowledge that:
- Visitor currency preferences may be stored locally in their browser (localStorage).
- A random visitor ID (UUID) may be generated and stored in localStorage to help count unique visitors.
- When analytics is enabled, the visitor ID and usage events may be transmitted to Currency.Wiki servers.
- Analytics data is stored on Currency.Wiki servers in pseudonymous and/or aggregated form.
- Visitors can clear browser-stored data by clearing their browser's localStorage.
Merchant Responsibility
If you enable analytics tracking, you are responsible for updating your store's privacy policy and obtaining any required consents to disclose the use of localStorage and analytics tracking on your storefront. We provide a sample disclosure in our Privacy Policy that you may reference.
6. Service Availability
We strive to provide reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability:
- We target 99.9% uptime but this is not a guarantee or SLA
- Scheduled maintenance will be announced when possible
- We are not liable for losses caused by service interruptions
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CurrencyWiki Technologies LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
8. Termination
By You
You may terminate by uninstalling the App from your Shopify store at any time.
By Us
We may terminate or suspend your access immediately for violation of these Terms or Shopify's policies.
Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases. We will delete your data within 30 days per our Privacy Policy.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
